Things that make you smile!
It has been a long road but the Mailmam is winning the battle. I am now the proud co-founder of The Roland Senior Dog Rescue Gang and our mission is to give senior dogs who are abandoned by their families at shelters or needing a home due to circumstances beyond the control of the owners, a home to live out the remaining years of their lives. We have taken in younger ones that have medical needs or behavioral problems and are trying to rehabilitate them and find them homes but some are just not adjusting to strangers and are biters. Sometimes they want to bite me if they don't like something I am doing. And the big thing is I have taken in a blue pit bull, he was a bonded partner with another mixed pit that is not much so pit. He was so sweet and sad looking that I could not leave him behind and I was right about him, he is a gentle soul. He has gained weight and I talk to him and tell him this does not mean that I can trust pit bulls now. I also tell him I know he could tear me to pieces if he wanted to so I hope he doesn't want to. I have lost weight and I am 63, people tell me I am tiny because I am short too, I was really strong when I carried mail and worked out with weights. I had a walking route in an older neighbourhood that had steps up to the yard then steps up to the porch. I was in great shape, that's why the pit bulls didn't kill me. Also why God let me get attacked and put those dangerous dogs ( due to horrible owners ) down, and not and old lady or man or child that were always on those streets. We have 32 dogs all sizes. Our Facebook Page is The Roland Senior Dog Rescue Gang and our web site is www.rolandrescuegang.com. More to come!!
